The Hammerhead^® PortaBurst^® PB30 Gen 2 is a rugged, portable, cost effective and efficient system for replacing 2" to 6" (50 to 150 mm) lateral pipes Unlike the pipe lining process, pipe bursting lets you install the same or larger size new HDPE pipe, in a minimum amount of time. The PortaBurst Gen 2 features modular construction, 30 tons of pulling force. Designed to run at 3,000 psi (207 bar) the system can be powered by a backhoe, compact excavator or any other portable hydraulic power pack.

Compact modular design
The modular design of the PortaBurst Gen 2 allows for easy disassembly, assembly and transport and only requires small pits reducing overall excavation.

Positive cable grip system
An actuating cylinder initiates a positive cable grip and a second cable grip holds the cable in place during recycling. This reduces the bungee effect and helps enhance production.

High production unit
A 12" (31 cm) hydraulic cylinder increases cycle length and delivers production rates up to 12 feet per minute (3.7 meters per minute). The unit only requires 3,000 psi (207 bar) providing multiple choices when selecting a hydraulic power source.

QuickGrip (Patent Pending) burst heads
Our 4” and 6” (100 and 150 mm) bursting heads offer quick connections to HDPE pipe without the use of hand tools and our system allows you to negotiate 45° bends.

Optional equipment
HammerHead offers an optional extraction cage to ease removal of the unit and burst head in one simple lift. A duct rodder and remote control station are also available.
